Model home to replicate life on Mars

You probably saw the The Martian movie with Matt Damon about surviving on Mars. National Geographic has developed a model of a home that they speculate could be sustainable on Mars. They showcased their model in the Greenwich Royal Observatory, which helped with the production of the model. Stephen Petranek, the editor-in-chief of the Breakthrough Technology Alert, a technology newsletter that ties scientific breakthroughs to investment opportunities and author of the TED Book How We’ll Live on Mars. Petranek also helped with the design and specs.

National Geographic is preparing for what they believe will be the future of space travel. They’ve even simulated what would happen during the first manned mission to Mars, which they believe could take place as early as 2033.
